Starting HRT at 30 is actually quite common as by that time people are finally done with their education, found a stable job, got independent of their parents and all. It is never too late to start it but, I'd rather ask you to see how much time you've already wasted on an unhappy life.

WEBJan 2, 2014 · I'm now In my late 30's (38), started a bit past 28. Didn't have a family/kids when I transitioned, but was in a stable multi-year relationship with a wonderful woman. Sadly, right as I started hormones, she passed away from a Pulmonary Embolism. So I went it mostly alone for another two years.
Transitioning in my 30s was easily the best thing I ever did.

Mourning time that has past is only losing more time. So I transitioned after a long oddysee in my 30s. Married for 6 years, one child.

WEBThere isn't much of a difference, physiologically speaking, between transitioning in your mid-20s and your 30s. In both cases any pubertal developments are long finished, and your passing chance is entirely a game of genetic lottery. So the idea that your 30s in particular are "too late" to successfully transition is just wrong.

WEBAug 28, 2019 · I still get misgendered (although it’s gradually decreasing in frequency), but I always feel femme and confident, no matter how I’m dressed. I know that this is a tough journey, but hold your heads high and be proud of who you are <3. 30, 6'5", 10 months HRT, no surgeries yet. I've somehow passed in multiple scenarios.

WEBJul 3, 2022 · Tried on pants in my normal size, and had trouble getting em over my hips, and they wouldn't button. Tried the next size, and still too small. I gave up, came home, tried on a few pairs, yup, I'm definitely wider. I'm 36, 16 months HRT. People claim hip bones don't widen past 25. At least in my case, that doesn't seem to be true.

WEBDec 28, 2015 · HRT is very YMMV. Seriously, I've seen people in their 30s get better results than people in their 20s. Anyway, HRT isn't the be all and end all of transition anyway. The other things you can do (voice training, makeup/styling/whatever) also have a huge effect on how people gender you.
