WEBNov 11, 2010 · All the Family, Neighbors and Friends vehicles are "Gasoline" engines. All of the Diesel Oils were API-SM, CJ-4 rated and all of the vehicles were 2006 and earlier. When I get back to Coney Island I will change my oil to a blend of Shell Rotella, Triple Protection 15w40 and Formula Shell 5w20 all in API-SM.

WEBMar 12, 2015 · Rotella T6 for many years and miles. But I'm not married to it. I switched from Valvoline Premium Blue, and a short flirtation with M1 TDT before settling on RT6. Mostly because it's available for $22 per gallon at every Walmart across the USA. But next oil change I will give Valvoline MaxLife Heavy Duty Diesel a try for the summer months.

WEBJun 21, 2017 · I'd like a little more for the first fill. Won't hurt to have more all the time. Rotella T4 has plenty. All the HDEO's do. The new ones rated for multi-vehicle fleet use have reduced amounts. But the straight diesel only oils all have 1,100ish or more, except ones rated LE (low emissions).

WEBMar 12, 2015 · It’s been my understanding that Rotella oils (T4, T5, and T6) did not change their formulation since dropping the gas rated spec. Can’t help but wonder if it has something to do with them pushing the T6 gas/ diesel 5w30 oil, but they need to do something about the price before I’d consider it for my “fleet.”
