I visit there with my family .It was a awesome experience in park. Then i stayed in Hotel Indraprastha inn near by Janeshwar mishra park. Very good food and service over there. Full review by hotelindraprasthainl
No, It's not allowed to cook over there, formally they allow to take the only water bottle with you, but informally you can also take some food with you in the park.
