Microsoft’s layoffs will affect 122 Bay Area and remote workers, according to a filing to California officials viewed by the Chronicle. The Redmond-Wash.-based tech giant said 86 workers would be laid off in Mountain View and Santa Clara as of July 12.

Microsoft, based in Redmond, Washington, said the layoffs will be across all levels and geographies but the cuts will focus on reducing the number of managers.
