Metro Detroit is in for some snow over the next 24 hours, but how much should we expect and when will it be the strongest?

A clipper system arrives late today with strong south winds, scattered snow showers, and minor travel impacts. Treacherous travel becomes likely overnight into Thursday morning with steadier, heavier snow and wind gusts in excess of 40+ mph.

Snow showers should increase late Wednesday through early Thursday morning. Most areas could get 1"-2". Very strong winds will make wind chills near zero by Thursday morning.
