A California man was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) after he allegedly tried to check two suitcases containing more than 70 pounds of clothing caked in methamphetamine – including a cow pajama onesie – on a flight to Australia, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.

Merle Wade Wakefield, 67, registered as a “sexually violent predator” with the California Department of Justice and the county, received his conditional release from Coalinga State Hospital following a judge’s order.

A 67-year-old sex offender was released Tuesday from Coalinga State Hospital under conditional terms, requiring a lifetime registration as a sexual predator.
