Journalism, the Kentucky Derby runner-up and the race favorite, wins the 2025 Preakness Stakes, the last at Pimlico as we know it.

Journalism, who was toward the middle of the pack for most of Saturday’s Preakness Stakes, pulled ahead in the final leg to win the race. Right before the race, Journalism was listed as the 6-5 favorite on NBC after finishing second behind Sovereignty — who was not running in the Preakness — in the Kentucky Derby.

Journalism won the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, coming from behind down the stretch make good on the lofty expectations of being the favorite in the middle leg of the Triple Crown two weeks after finishing second to Sovereignty in the Kentucky Derby.
