In retrospect, 2024 could have been the year for Sony's Spider-Man Universe (an accepted moniker despite the fact that the beloved wall-crawler never actually appears in any of the films). With the Marvel Cinematic Universe releasing only one blockbuster due to the Hollywood labor battles in 2023,

With a dismal box office outlook, “Kraven the Hunter” may add to Sony’s list of Spider-Man spinoffs that failed to capture audiences, including “Madame Web” and “Morbius.”

Once upon a time, it was meant to arrive before both Madame Web and Venom: The Last Dance. But now that it's finally here, Kraven the Hunter reportedly marks the final outing (for now) in the ill-fated Sony's Spider-Man Universe which, for unfortunate licensing reasons, could never feature actual Spider-Man.
