Kseniia Petrova, the Harvard researcher who was detained by customs agents in February, faces a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a judge said Thursday.
A federal judge on Thursday ordered that a Harvard Medical School scientist from Russia, who has been detained since February when federal customs agents discovered frog embryos in her luggage, be transferred to Massachusetts to face a criminal charge of allegedly smuggling biological material into the United States.
A judge will hear the case of Harvard genetics researcher Kseniia Petrova, who has been in ICE custody since February.
The DOJ has federally charged Kseniia Petrova, the Harvard researcher who was found by a customs agent to be carrying undeclared frog embryos.
