Bitcoin miner MARA on Tuesday confirmed an acquisition of 11,774 BTC for $1.1 billion, increasing its total Bitcoin holdings to 40,435 BTC. MARA is the second-largest public corporation in terms of Bitcoin holdings,

American Bitcoin miner MARA announced Tuesday that it bought 11,774 BTC for $1.1 billion, and now holds nearly $4 billion worth in total.

The company is seeing an improvement in mining capacity and the rising Bitcoin price is bolstering its stock price growth.

J.P. Morgan analyst Reginald Smith on Tuesday upgraded CleanSpark (NASDAQ:CLSK) and Cipher Mining (NASDAQ:CIFR) shares to Overweight from Neutral, and also MARA Holdings (NASDAQ:MARA) to Neutral from Underweight,

The bank updated estimates for a number of mining stocks in its coverage following third quarter results and recent gains in bitcoin and the hashrate.
