SAMBHAL: A court here on Friday directed the court-appointed commissioner to submit within 10 days the survey report on the Jama Masjid mosque here following claims that a temple stood on the spot, and fixed January 8 as the next date of hearing.

The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the trial court to not proceed with the Sambhal's Shahi Jama Masjid case until the mosque committee moves the High Court.

The plea has been filed seeking an ex-parte stay on the operation of the November 19 order passed by the civil judge. A bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna is set to hear the plea on Friday.
