In the wake of the recent stampede at New Delhi railway station that led to 18 deaths, Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked the Indian Railw.

The court questioned why the Railways sold more tickets than their capacity allows, highlighting a breach of Section 57 of the Railways Act.

A bench of Chief Justice D K Upadhayaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela asked the authorities concerned to state in its affidavit, the details of its measures on the issues.
