John Copenhaver had the play of the night, converting a fake punt early in the game. It was a mixed bag for kicker Noah Burnette, who split a pair of field goals. Tom Maginness averaged 38 yards per punt and had two punts downed inside the 20-yard line. The Tar Heels also recovered an onside kick to clinch the victory.

This season has been a rollercoaster for the North Carolina Tar Heels football team. After starting 3-0, the Tar Heels had an embarrassing loss to James Madison which began a four-game losing streak.
