David Ortiz really wants to see the Red Sox sign Juan Soto this winter, and believe the team will do what it takes to land the bigger name available this offseason.

In his pitch for Juan Soto to sign with the Red Sox, David Ortiz called Alex Cora the "best manager in the Major Leagues."

Ortiz, who is a Red Sox legend, has mentored Soto for years, as both players hail from the Dominican Republic. Soto grew up watching Ortiz, Pedro Martinez and Manny Ramirez. Ortiz believes that Soto and fellow Dominican Rafael Devers could be Boston's new era of Ortiz and Ramirez.

“If there was one player in baseball who could be the next David Ortiz in Boston, it is Juan Soto. He’s that good,” Ortiz said to WEEI.
