Among AI's hottest stocks through 2024 are data analytics company Palantir Technologies ( PLTR 6.88%) and semiconductor leader Nvidia ( NVDA 1.18%). Both companies have handily topped the markets this year -- with shares of Palantir rocketing by 291% while Nvidia has gained about 179% (as of market close Nov. 29).

Palantir Technologies stock (NASDAQ: PLTR) has had a solid run, rising by almost 4x since the beginning of the year to about $66 presently.

Could this become yet another catalyst that pushes this high-powered artificial intelligence (AI) stock even higher? At first glance, Palantir's move from the New York Stock Exchange to Nasdaq may not seem like a big move since many top growth stocks are on both exchanges.

Ken Griffin of Citadel sold 5.1 million shares of Palantir, reducing his stake by 91%. Meanwhile, he bought 4.7 million shares of Nvidia, increasing his stake by 194%. Nvidia is the second largest position in Citadel's portfolio, excluding options contracts and index funds.
