Federal investigators say the man responsible for a suicide bombing outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, had personal ties to Washington state.

The FBI believes the suspect in the Palm Springs explosion left behind "anti-pro-life" writings before carrying out the attack, officials said.

Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke called on legislators to pass a bill that would amend the terrorism article of the state’s criminal code to include language protecting reproductive health care facilities.

Police Chief Andy Mills told News Channel 3's Peter Daut that other people could potentially face charges if investigators learn they had some prior knowledge about the Palm Springs bomb explosion or the suspect's activities.

Guy Edward Bartkus, 25, is the primary suspect in the bombing at American Reproductive Centers in Southern California. The bombing left four people injured, and Bartkus died in the explosion that has been called an “intentional act of terrorism,” according to the FBI.
