Punjab Kings (PBKS) are gearing up for a powerful run in IPL 2025 with a revamped squad, helmed by new head coach Ricky Ponting. After retaining core players Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh, PBKS strategically utilized their substantial INR 110.

Punjab Kings had only retained two players ahead of the auction and both of them were uncapped. In the run up to the auction, the Punjab franchise also brought in Ricky Ponting as their head coach. In the auction, they have tried to buy some good Indian players alongside trusted overseas names.

Rajasthan Royals retained six players for the upcoming IPL season. The team is looking to rebuild after a disappointing few years. They won the IPL championship in 2008 but have not had much success since.
