All five San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office captains have called for Corpus’s resignation amid unrest within the department.

Sheriff Christina Corpus of San Mateo County is under pressure to resign following allegations of misconduct and a unanimous no-confidence vote by the County Board.

San Mateo County officials provided forensic evidence on Thursday that Sheriff Christina Corpus sent a homophobic text message. Corpus had previously denied the allegations. County Supervisor Ray Mueller unveiled his evidence at a press conference.

Five Congressional and state leaders from San Mateo County on Monday called upon embattled Sheriff Christina Corpus to resign, saying her continued tenure impacts public safety.
