The Trump administration’s war with Walmart continued on Sunday, as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent admitted in an interview that Americans would be paying higher prices at the big-box retailer and other stores across the country.
The treasury secretary said Sunday that countries that do not engage in "good faith" negotiations could face a return to the tariff levels announced on April 2.
"If we were to give too much certainty to the other countries, then they would play us in the negotiations," Bessent told CNN.
