Flare-ups in the San Bernardino National Forest have prompted officials to issue a new evacuation order as firefighters continue battling against the Line Fire.

The Line Fire once again released a massive plume of smoke into the air Sunday in what fire officials described as an expected flareup.

California residents near a wildfire that is largely contained have been ordered to evacuate after the blaze in San Bernardino County flared up.

A flare up in the Line Fire, which has torched tens of thousands of acres of vegetation in the Angeles National Forest, has forced new evacuation orders weeks after the blaze was first ignited.

Cal Fire ordered residents in Seven Oaks and the Barton Flats area, including all campgrounds and cabins, to evacuate as the Line fire threatened.

It has burned 43,458.8 acres after being active for 25 days, an increase of 208 acres since the last update. A crew of 1,176 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 80% of the fire as of Monday afternoon.

The Line Fire was spread over 62.6 square miles, with 83% of the fire contained and 1,176 personnel assigned to fight the fire as of Sunday.
