There is the potential for the weather to cause further disruption in Northern Ireland later as a warning for high winds comes into effect. On Saturday, a number of homes in counties Down and Tyrone were flooded after heavy rain and wind caused by Storm Bert.

While the country deals with the fallout from Storm Bert, a weather expert has revealed ‘some good news’ for the coming days. 60,000 customers were without power at some stage of the weekend as a result of the status red rain warnings in place due to the stormy conditions.

Dozens of flood warnings and alerts remain in place across England on Sunday as disruption from Storm Bert continues in many parts of the UK. A man in his 60s died on Saturday after a tree hit his car near Winchester, while a number of homes were flooded in counties Down and Tyrone in Northern Ireland.

Ireland is set to go under red, orange and yellow rain and wind warnings as Storm Bert hits the country. The warnings have kicked in with severe flooding, damage and risk to life expected in parts of the country.

Two amber warnings were issued as a "multiple-hazard event" hit the UK. Red alerts were issued for parts of Ireland.
