Over the past month, the Florida Gators have righted the ship - both on the field and on the recruiting trail. Billy Napier's coaching staff has won three straight games and the program has landed double-digit commitments since mid-November.

Four-star safety Hylton Stubbs backed off his Miami commitment and flipped to rival Florida, costing UM one of its top players in this year’s class. “I’m a Swamp boy,” Stubbs told On3.

Hylton Stubbs, the five-star safety out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin High School, told Rivals on November 14 he was "riding with Miami " despite the amount of programs working to change his longstanding commitment.

For the Florida Gators, the third Hylton Stubbs‘ commitment was the charm. After having previously been committed to Miami and Southern California, the 4-star safety from Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin has flipped from the Hurricanes to the Gators in a recruiting stunner that will send shockwaves throughout the Sunshine State.

Stubbs had initially committed to USC before flipping that to Miami. Napier is poised for a hot finish. Buoyed by a strong 7-5 season behind true freshman quarterback DJ Lagway, Florida is still in play for several others. Receiver Jaime Ffrench, a Texas commit and Raines offensive lineman Solomon Thomas are also Gators targets.

Just 48 hours before Early Signing Day, the Miami Hurricanes got some unwanted news when Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin 4-star S Hylton Stubbs flipped his commitment to the rival Florida Gators. Stubbs shocked the recruiting world with his initial commitment to the USC Trojans.
