President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said tariffs could cause more inflation and result in job losses for the U.S. and Mexico.

And among the countries of origin for those products, Mexico is the biggest contributor — meaning U.S. consumers could see higher prices for a range of grocery and produce items if President-elect Donald Trump follows through on his l atest threat to impose a 25% tariff on all items brought in across the southern border.

Claudia Sheinbaum said Mexico suffered from an influx of weapons smuggled in from the United States, and that drugs were a U.S. problem.
