The UN General Assembly will vote on a draft resolution for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, after the US vetoed a similar action in the Security Council.

The U.N. General Assembly is set to consider a draft resolution Wednesday calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as well as the release of all hostages still being held by militants. The meeting comes weeks after the United States voted against a similar measure at the U.N. Security Council.

However, many other areas continue to suffer, with seven bakeries in North Gaza and Rafah governorates remaining closed due to ongoing hostilities. Additionally, bakeries in Deir al Balah and Khan Younis have shut down due to flour shortages and safety concerns.
