PEORIA — The Illinois basketball team produced a fast-break start to their 2025 recruiting class this week by landing four-star combo guard prospect Keaton Wagler. The ratings site, 247 Sports, ranked the 6-foot-6 Wagler as the No. 1 prospect in Kansas for the 2025 class and the 150th overall in the nation.

Darryn Peterson, ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect in the class of 2025, has placed the Jayhawks among his top choices.

Kindell was a key reserve for a Barton team that finished 36-1 and won the program’s first NJCAA national championship in Hutchinson this past March. He averaged 9.7 points and 2.6 assists in 20.1 minutes per game as a freshman for the Cougars.
