The history of the Ram Mandir dates back to the epic Ramayana, where Lord Rama's birthplace is revered. Ayodhya, the holy city, has long been associated with the divine presence of Lord Rama.
To mark the occasion, the Uttar Pradesh government seeks to create a world record by lighting 25 lakh diyas on the banks of the Saryu river.
Specially designed peacock-shaped earthen diyas will be placed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Mandir for the upcoming Deepotsav, ensuring no damage to the temple floor from the oil lamps.
