Apple unveiled its new MacBook Pro models this week, with M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chipsets. The new M4 Pro chip in the Mac mini already showed some very promising results, making it the fastest Mac ever. However, M4 Max takes it to an all new level, and performs among the highest end PC chips on the market.

The M4 Max still looks like a good upgrade compared with the M2 Max, with up to four additional high-performance CPU cores, a higher maximum RAM capacity, and two additional GPU cores. But again, it looks like the increased memory bandwidth could drive most of the GPU performance increases.

Between the two new productivity-level chipsets headed to Apple's new laptops this fall, The M4 Pro and M4 Max offer two distinct levels of capability.

Apples new M4 Pro and M4 Max chips are outperforming even the powerful M2 Ultra, according to newly-uploaded benchmarks.

As well as the M4 and M4 processors already announced, the MacBook Pro can be configured with the M4 Max chip which Apple has just unveiled. Like the M4 Pro, Apple describes M4 Max as second-generation 3-nanometer technology with fast performance.

Apple's " Mac week " continues with the launch of new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros powered by M4-series chips (M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max). Starting prices range from $1,599 to $3,199, and preorders are now live in the Apple Store.
