Daniel Dubois told Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez to kiss goodbye to his cash after the Mexican said he bet half a million dollars on Oleksandr Usyk beating the Briton in Saturday's undisputed heavyweight world title fight.
Against Usyk, his second career loss, Dubois would hear the count of 10 whilst on his knees for a second time, which meant the original noise from his first career defeat would have the volume turned way up. His career appeared in jeopardy, but he has since pushed on to prove himself.
Dubois was the beneficiary of this move by the IBF, picking up the interim title with a June 2024 stoppage of Filip Hrgovic and then being elevated to full champion after Usyk was stripped. Dubois then defended his title with a spectacular knockout of Anthony Joshua in Wembley Stadium.
Daniel Dubois determined to dazzle on his date with destiny - The 27-year-old faces Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night.
