The Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun played before a sold-out TD Garden on Tuesday, the second year in a row the WNBA has filled the arena to capacity for a regular season game. Fever guard Sophie Cunningham is hoping Boston hosts more games in the future.
Fans traveled across state lines to cheer on their respective teams, and expressed their desire for Boston to create its own WNBA team.
After 10 tied scores and seven lead changes, the Connecticut Sun suffered a late collapse to lose 85-77 to the Indiana Fever at TD Garden.
After a heated previous matchup that secured Indiana a Commissioner's Cup spot, the teams face off again tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
The New York Liberty hosts the Indiana Fever tonight at the Barclays Center for an 7:30 PM ET showdown, one of the last regular season games before the All-Star weekend begins.
At one point in the third quarter, Fever star Aliyah Boston got tied up with former league MVP Tina Charles down low. Boston hit the deck after Charles took a swing as the two were jockeying for position.
