The NFL suspended the Texans linebacker for three games without pay after a violent hit on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence on Sunday that resulted in a concussion.

The NFL's vice president of football operations said the league deemed the hit "unacceptable" and that Al-Shaair's "continued disregard" for rules governing player safety "will not be tolerated."
