PORTLAND (WGME)--- Slick travel is likely in parts of Maine on Tuesday with wintry weather expected. A more significant storm is on the way for Thanksgiving with widespread rain and snow.

Snow will change to sleet and freezing rain today in central and southern Maine. In the mountains and far north, mostly snow will fall.

Costs attributed to the Oct. 12 storm were $5.4 million ... scrutinize the costs “very carefully.” A Thanksgiving day rainstorm in much of southern Maine switched to snow in most places.

Long-duration winter storm brought snow, ice, and strong winds to the northeast United States, impacting thousands.
