Ms. Williams, whose health has been scrutinized since she left her daytime talk show in 2021, has been under the control of a court-appointed guardian for the past three years.

A year after her team said she was diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, Williams claims she is “not cognitively impaired.”

As we previously told you, Williams has been taking steps to get out from under her court-appointed guardianship. At the end of January, she fired her court-appointed personal attorney after the latter didn’t file specific paperwork Williams requested that would have begun the process to decide if her guardianship is truly necessary.

Wendy Williams has formally moved to end her guardianship. On Wednesday (February 12), Williams signed an affidavit requesting a judge remove her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrisey, according to TMZ. The move comes as Williams is claiming that she's "regained capacity" to function independently and is no longer suffering from frontotemporal dementia.

Wendy Williams is getting things in motion to end the controversial guardianship she's under. According to TMZ, hours after the Saving Wendy documentary was released on Tubi, Williams signed an affidavit asking the judge overseeing her conservatorship to release her from it.
