Prison officials have launched an investigation into the attack on Lanez, who is serving a 10-year prison sentence.

In a statement posted to his official Instagram page on Monday – hours after TMZ reported that the artist, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, 32, was attacked by another prison inmate – his team revealed that he was stabbed 14 times. The name of the prison inmate who initiated the attack was not released.

The rapper was hospitalized after being stabbed 14 times, his Instagram account said. He is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting the hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion.
