First discovered: 6:41 p.m. Dec. 3 A new wildfire was reported today at 6:41 p.m. in Riverside County. The wildfire has been burning on federal land managed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. There is currently no information about the containment efforts for the fire and its cause has yet to be determined.

Crews announced Sunday evening that the Canyon Crest Fire has been fully contained at 254 acres. The fire, which scorched parts of Riverside County bordering San Bernardino County, prompted evacuation warnings when it broke out around 5:30 p.

Evacuation warnings were initially issued last night as some houses had reportedly burned. The fire as of Thursday evening encompassed 84 acres and was 0% contained overnight, in the area east of County Village Road and west of Sierra Avenue.
