Matt Chapman is slated to rejoin the San Francisco Giants on Saturday in Sacramento. It'll be the second game of a series against his former team, the Athletics. Beat reporter Susan Slusser reported that Chapman played in one Triple-A game on Friday before traveling to join the team and get back into MLB action on Saturday.

The San Francisco Giants activated third baseman Matt Chapman from the 10-day injured list prior to Saturday night's contest against the host Athletics. Chapman is batting fourth while playing in his customary defensive spot at the hot corner.

Chapman returns to the team in the midst of their worst stretch of the season. The Giants went 9-14 without Chapman in the lineup, and they’ve lost eight of their last 11 games. Their recent skid includes being swept by the Miami Marlins at home, as well as losing two of three to the Chicago White Sox.
