Moderate to heavy rain moved in Sunday evening and waves of rain and storms will continue through Monday and into Tuesday, bringing 2 to 5 inches of rain to the region. Widespread flooding is not expected from this rain because of how dry the region has been lately.

Historic flooding throughout the St. Louis region ended the lives of at least five people, officials confirmed to 5 On Your Side on Tuesday. The deaths started Monday afternoon when a car driven by a 66-year-old man was swept away in Iron County.

St. Louis County police just before 4:30 p.m. confirmed the second body has been recovered by authorities. Lemay fire crews assisted in both incidents.
