Indian cricket great Sunil Gavaskar believes there is something "strange" about Josh Hazlewood pulling out of the second Test with a side strain. Hazlewood was one of the few bright lights in an Australian side that promised a lot but delivered very little in the first Test defeat to India in Perth.

Indian cricket legend and Channel 7 commentator Sunil Gavaskar has cast doubt over Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood’s injury. Writing a column for Indian news outlet Sportstar, Gavaskar has suggested Hazlewood was dropped for making divisive comments about the team during the first Test in Perth.

Hazlewood, who was Australia's most successful bowler in Perth, has been sidelined from the day-night Adelaide Test due to an injury. Scott Boland will replace Hazlewood for the Test.
