Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Viktor Gyokeres and will seal a club-to-club agreement "very soon", according to multiple reports.

The news that Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres should end talk of the Swedish international making the move to Old Trafford. The 27-year-old's goalscoring record in Portugal was extraordinary and it was playing under United boss Ruben Amorim where he became one of the most feared forwards in Europe.

Arsenal have persistently flirted with moves for both Gyokeres and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko this summer but if the ex-Coventry City hitman does not show up for training in Lisbon, there is optimism Sporting may crack and eventually, soften their stance.
