As SoxFest Live wrapped up Saturday, the attention turns to spring training. Chicago White Sox pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 12 for Will Venable’s first camp as manager.

Reese McGuire, who saw his production drop off with the Red Sox in 2024, is set to join the Cubs for their major league Spring Training camp next month.

The Cubs invited reliever Trevor Richards and catcher Reese McGuire to spring training after signing both to minor league deals on Tuesday, per WSCR-AM's Bruce Levine.

Keller debuted in the MLB in 2018 with Kansas City and spent six seasons there before signing with the Chicago White Sox in March 2024. After choosing free agency in May, he signed with the Red Sox and spent the year between Boston and Triple-A Worcester.

In a written statement, the Chicago Cubs honored Uecker’s iconic voice, lamenting a loss being felt across Major League Baseball (MLB). Among the multitudes of people blessed to be in Uecker’s presence was White Sox play-by-play broadcaster Len Kasper.

The Cubs are among the teams that have discussed right-hander Dylan Cease with the Padres, per Jon Morosi of MLB Network. There’s no indication that the two sides are close to any sort of deal or that discussions were anything more than exploratory.
