The loss was the Islanders’ third straight regulation defeat, the first time since Dec. 29, 2024 – Jan. 2, 2025 the Isles had dropped three consecutive games.
The Stars scored two power-play goals after Casey Cizikas drew a match penalty. Anthony Duclair's goal midway through the third period pulled the Islanders within 4-3, but Jean-Gabriel Pageau's apparent tying goal was waved off for goalie interference.
