Like other formatting symbols, the Paragraph Marks ¶ can be of huge help. But you can turn off these Paragraph marks in Word, if you wish to.
Let’s say you need to indent your paragraphs one inch from the margin. Rather than pressing [Tab] twice to indent a paragraph, enter 1 in the Default Tab Stops dialog box and then click OK.
Locate and click the Paragraph dialog launcher icon in the bottom right of the Paragraph group, and click the Tabs button at the foot of the Paragraph dialog box.
