The New York Islanders placed defenseman Ryan Pulock and goaltender Marcus Hogberg on injured reserve on Monday due to upper-body injuries. The moves are retroactive to Saturday, when they were injured during a 3-2 overtime win against the Carolina Hurricanes.

A couple of players on Long Island will be on the shelf for a little bit. On Monday, the New York Islanders announced that defenseman Ryan Pulock and goaltender Marcus Hogberg have both been placed on injured reserve with upper-body injuries.

New York announced on Monday afternoon that they have acquired Scott Perunovich from the St. Louis Blues : While Pulock is a big-body right-shot defenseman, Pernovich is a 5-10 left-handed defenseman. However, he can play both sides.

New York Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock left in the first period of action versus the Carolina Hurricanes after falling behind the net. Later in the third period, goaltender Marcus Högberg exited the game and was replaced by Ilya Sorokin.
