It's still difficult in November to get a lot of people to care about a random basketball game in Las Vegas between two schools that are historically more likely to meet in a College Football Playoff than a Final Four.

The Ducks (8-0) are No. 12 with 806 points in this week’s AP men’s college basketball poll and No. 10 with 457 points in the coaches poll after beating Texas A&M, San Diego State and Alabama last week in Las Vegas.

In all, the SEC had eight teams in the new AP Top 25 poll. In addition to Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and Kentucky, the Florida Gators (8-0) rose five spots to No. 13 while the Oklahoma Sooners moved into the Top 25 at No. 21 following a 7-0 start.

Alabama football was rewarded for its Saturday win over Auburn when the coaches top 25 poll and Associated Press media rankings updated on Sunday. The Crimson Tide moved back into the top 12, though the polls have on what the College Football Playoff committee chooses to do over the next few weeks.
