The Hindu Hitarakshana Samithi, Mangaluru, will stage a protest in front of mini Vidhana Soudha here on Wednesday, against atrocities being committed against Hindus and Hindu temples in Bangladesh, said Satish Kumpala,

The statement came amid increasing pressure on the government to take up forcefully with the interim government in Dhaka the issue of attacks on the minorities, particularly Hindus, in the neighbouring country.

Thousands rallied in Tripura demanding the release of ISKCON leader Chinmoy Prabhu and an end to attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Organized by the Hindu Sangharsh Samity, the protest called for the Ministry of External Affairs to address Prabhu's arrest and the violence against Hindu communities with the Bangladesh government.

Protests have erupted at the India-Bangladesh border led by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari over violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. Taking place near Petrapole land port, Suvendu Adhikari demanded strict measures like halting visas for Bangladeshi citizens seeking medical care in India and restricting imports and exports with Bangladesh.
