Two children injured in a drive-by shooting that killed their 8-year-old sibling while they were driving with their mother in their car are recovering from their injuries, Baton Rouge Police said Monday.

The Baton Rouge Police Department identified a child that died from injuries sustained in a shooting on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

One person was taken to a hospital after a Tuesday morning shooting in Baton Rouge, according to emergency medical services officials.

About 2 p.m., a vehicle occupied by a mother and her five children was riddled with gunfire from a passing vehicle in the 1000 block of Swan Avenue, police said.

The family of three children shot on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 27, says one child has died and two others are in the hospital after multiple gunshots were fired on a car.

Eric Taylor was shot last Wednesday less than 100 yards from their home off of Plank Road. His mother heard the gunshots that took his life.

Police are investigating after three children were hurt in a drive-by shooting on Swan Avenue Wednesday afternoon.
