At least one person is dead and hundreds of thousands of were without power early Wednesday as a powerful bomb cyclone hit the Pacific Northwest and northern California.

Over a month’s worth of rain, hurricane-force wind gusts and feet of mountain snow are coming to parts of the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.

A woman was killed by a falling tree and tens of thousands of homes in Washington state lost power Tuesday as Northern California and the Pacific Northwest started feeling the effects of a powerful atmospheric river event,

Over half a million are now without power as the Pacific storm moves through Western Washington. As of 11 p.m., Seattle City Light reports that over 112,648 customers are experiencing outages. Overall the state is reporting over 606 thousand without power.

Thousands of people across western Washington were without power Tuesday night as a bomb cyclone brought strong winds to the region.
