President Donald Trump took a break from his bitter public feud with Elon Musk by offering support to Tesla in an early morning post on Truth Social.

Elon Musk was referring to an earlier post by Donald Trump on Truth Social, which claimed that he wanted the Tesla CEO to “THRIVE”.

The Trump administration is reportedly looking for alternatives to Musk’s SpaceX as contractor for its Golden Dome missile defense system.

In the midst of an on-again, off-again, explosive public feud that culminated in Musk dropping the bomb that “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files,” the president threw out a surprise olive branch. “I want Elon, and all businesses within our Country, to THRIVE, in fact, THRIVE like never before!” he wrote on Truth Social on Thursday.

The president’s plan for an artificial intelligence-driven future has garnered backlash from allies who are disturbed by its tech bro-friendly proposals.

Elon Musk once again emphasized the importance of solar energy on the social media platform X on Thursday, following the launch of a home energy plan in Texas by his firm Tesla, in partnership with residential solar firm Sunrun.

The olive branch comes amid reports that Trump’s name appears in the Epstein files—something Musk previously alluded to.

Shares in Tesla were down in premarket trading as the carmaker lays out the risks from President Trump’s tariffs and his scrapping of tax credits.
