At a press conference, Akil Davis, FBI assistant director in charge of the Los Angeles field office, said the bombing was “an intentional act of terrorism.”
Here's the latest on the suspect in "one of the largest bombing investigations we've had in Southern California," according to the FBI.
An explosion outside a Palm Springs, Calif., fertility clinic late Saturday morning killed one person, injured four others and sent debris flying for blocks in all directions in the city about 100 miles east of Los Angeles. The prime suspect in the bombing is also who authorities believe was the sole fatality in the blast: Guy Edward Bartkus.
Bartkus was identified as the key suspect by the FBI on Sunday, after his body was discovered near a burned-out vehicle outside the clinic. He had reportedly attempted to livestream the explosion, with a camera found set up on a tripod nearby, although no footage was uploaded online.
