A tenth person has died following last weekend's devastating fire at a Fall River assisted living facility, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

Less than a week after the fatal fire at Gabriel House in Fall River, the family of a resident has retained the legal services of Morgan & Morgan, the law firm announced in a press release. In initial reports, nine people were killed and more than 30 hospitalized as a result of the July 13 fire.
The Bristol County DA reported the update Friday saying, "it was due to a miscommunication with a medical agency."
The Bristol District Attorney's Office corrected the report of the 10th victim's death in the Gabriel House fire on Friday, citing a miscommunication.
There’s no doubt in my mind that that fire was destined to kill 50-plus people,” Fall River Fire Chief Jeffrey Bacon said Wednesday.
