The only lawyer ready to defend Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the Hindu priest arrested and accused of sedition in Bangladesh, has been attacked, the ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) has said.

Das, a former member of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Bangladesh, was arrested from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday. He was denied bail and sent to jail by the Chattogram’s Sixth Metropolitan Magistrate court in a sedition case on Tuesday.

ISKCON is yet to issue statement. Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das’s arrest in sedition case earlier this month led to widespread protests in Bangladesh.
